I’m renting out my condo and have gotten a few bites. However, the most recent email was in all capital letters, which to me screams scammer. I’ve tried to do a revere email and phone lookup but nothing was found. Is there anything I can do to check the source of the email or any other steps I could take to check the legitity of an email? It was to a yahoo account, from an aol account.
Everything you are thinking sounds smart. (I don’t think your question was unclear at all…I assume you met by "bites" – leads?)
I wouldn’t think meeting with someone would be feasible, but I think they would have more risk than you. Once you have their money, you have all you need, who cares if they don’t stay there right?
Just accept only cashier checks, money orders or PayPal and allow payment to clear.
