I was hit with some virus the other week, and i cleaned it. After i cleaned it things started to go bad. I cant open the above mentioned websites – but when i am in safe mode everything is fine.
I have turned off my virus protection, and my firewalls and those websites still do not work.
When i go to the command prompt to ping those websites it give me back normal numbers. I took my laptop to work and it does not work there either.
Can someone tell me what is going wrong?
After three days without any answer I try to help.
I am workin with a German version of Windows XP which may be different to yours.
Hope my translation will be fine enough.
Please check your Computer after each point.
Point 1: Cookies
a) Click on “Extras” shown with a sign of a gearwheel on the right side of the desktop.
b) Click on “Internetoptions”
c) If not open click on “General”
d) delete “temporary data sets, cookies, …………”

e) Click on “Extras” shown with a sign of a gearwheel on the right side of the desktop.
f) The “Popupblocker” shows “switch off” and “settings“
g) Click on “Popupblocker settings” and fill in the URL´s of the Search Engines

Point 3: Backtracking
- You need to find out a date(= backtracking date) before catching the virus as everything still worked.
- You need to assure all documents and other important data sets on an external memory like CD-ROM because everything between the backtracking date and today will be lost.

k) accessories
l) system programs
m) Click on “system recovery“
n) Choose “ Computer recovery at an earlier date“
o) Set the Backtracking date
